When working with historic buildings, one of the primary challenges we face is sourcing materials that accurately match the time period in which the structure was originally built. Building techniques, material dimensions, and architectural details have changed significantly over the past two centuries. For example, lumber used 200 years ago was milled to different dimensions than what is standard today, and the intricate mouldings and trim profiles from that era are often no longer available through modern suppliers.

We work closely with organizations such as the Vieux Carré Commission and the Historic District Landmarks Commission to ensure that every detail is historically accurate and approved.
